The Big Bang Show is a unique combination of live comedy, improv, comedic skits and a suspenseful variety show. Think of American Idol plus The Gong Show plus Improv and the Johnny Carson Show. It was created by NOVA 535 owner Michael S. Novilla and is Co-Produced by Daniel Jefferson.
The show, held the first Thursday of the month, features five to six local contestants with a diverse range of talent, a panel of judges and entertainment sprinkled throughout from Got Jokes?, an incredibly funny and talented local improv group founded by Daniel "Mo Town" Jefferson.
"After each performance, the panel of celebrity judges gives their take, sometimes resulting in a standing ovation or the contrasting equivalent, a signal to a model to kindly escort the contestant off the stage. It's an emotional roller coaster as the contestants in all of their diversity take the audience on a ride filled with laughter, tears and triumph," Jefferson said.
The first-place winner at each show receives $100 and a chance to compete in the finals for a $1,000 grand prize.
The Big Bang Show is a 21-and-up show geared toward giving an adult crowd an enjoyable, classy evening filled with laughs...hands down, it's the most original, top-class variety talent competition ever offered to the Tampa Bay area public.
"Community members would have to travel to places like New York or Las Vegas to see a similar show, which offers a full dinner menu and bar service at your table, and you'd pay a much higher admission fee."
